Debate

This week was debate week and to say the least it got a bit intense. My topic was arguing for 'Everyone is a designer' Luckily I got a topic to debate that i was comfortable debating. I firmly believe that everyone has the ability to design, even if they don't know it. People design the layout of their home screen on their phones, the design where things are placed in their bedroom and so on. But, when it comes to design for a social impact it is crucial to treat the users as expert citizens.

We focused on the recent impact of 3D printers in our argument and how it is used as a tool to help people design together. They are becoming a household product and in turn people are downloading exisiting prints from open source platforms and tweeking them to suit their needs. I believe that this new form of creativity is going to change the world in years to come. Access to these resources will become easier than ever and people will share idea's evolving the world of design.

In my opinion letting everyone design can only benefit our society and I think the main thing stopping everyone designing right now is education and confidence. The confidence to create along with the knowedge of how to communicate your ideas weather it be through solidworks, photoshop or sketching.

 My Deign philosophy:

Design to me is creating to help others. It's vital to find your form of inspiration through whatever means, for me it is music and simplistic designs. My design is constantly evolving and developing, learning from the world around me.
